About the club

Same time.
Same place.

Ritual is a Toronto athletics club built on one habit: showing up.

Why Ritual

A habit you share.

Make showing up easy, and showing up again normal.

Most people don't stop running because they get slower. They stop because they stop showing up. A ritual fixes that. When the time and place never change, the decision is already made.

So that's what we do. The same session at the same time every week: a run, a strength block and coffee after. No leaderboard, no gatekeeping.

[Founder note: a line or two about why you started it.]

What we stand for

Show up

Consistency beats intensity. Your best run is the one you actually go to.

All paces

Every pace is welcome and nobody finishes alone. Fast is welcome. Slow is welcome.

Leave it better

We share paths with the whole city. We run like guests and leave every route the way we found it.

Code of conduct

The rules.

Short, and we mean all of them. Anyone who breaks them may be asked to leave the run or the club.

  1. Everyone belongsNo harassment, discrimination or comments about bodies, pace or gear. Ever.
  2. Nobody gets droppedYour host waits at the turns and the last runner is never left alone.
  3. Share the pathRun two abreast at most, call out when passing, and give way to walkers, cyclists and dogs.
  4. Obey the roadStop at red lights. No group is worth a near miss.
  5. Be seenWear something bright or reflective in the dark months.
  6. Ask before you postGet a yes before you photograph or tag someone.
  7. Look out for each otherIf someone is hurt or struggling, stop and tell your host.
  8. Speak upIf something feels wrong, tell your host or message us. We act on every report.
